Tea Time Tallinn: Chocolats de Pierre & Happy Birthday Party

Opened in 2003, Choco, the first Chocolaterie de Pierre café, was hidden in the Medieval master craftsmen’s courtyard on Vene Street in Tallinn Old Town. This cozy café with 1900’s vintage wooden furniture and granny quilt carpets offers the freshly house made chocolate specialty, garnishes with fruity jam, cream foam and cute cherries, or the seasonal white chocolate truffles. 

 

CHOCOLATS DE PIERRE provides various selections on the café drinks, its iced coffee with icy cream at top with micro ice cubes, and the rich hot chocolate conveys the slightly bitter sweet flavor. Regardless the strong shot espresso, we gang decide to share a large pot of seasonal fruit hot tea, in order to celebrate a birthday girl’s tea party wish.

 

Despite of the over flock of the wild pigeons, out of our surprise, that after 15:00, CHOCOLATS DE PIERRE not only supplies us the foodies the sweetest memories, with the gently played from trio threefold chic bohemianism, August 2023 is the first time ever that I enjoy the whole length of Le Cygne, The Swan, the 13th and penultimate movement of The Carnival of the Animals by French Composer Camille Saint-Saëns. 

 

The poppy red table cloths, the daily –made treats, the pebble backyard, the tiny counter to play the magic, the waitresses with straw hats, the smiles from around the world, just as Chocolats de Pierre announces: We do not count calories, we simply enjoy life.

Summer in Nordic Europe is fiercely fabulous, we Taiwanese gang is highly fond of taking a Baltic trip to celebrate the birthday party at Old Town Tallinn! Booking a one-day round trip from ECKERÖ LINE, departure at 09:00 from Helsinki and arrival Tallinn at 11:15, with S-PANKKI credit card the seafood buffet on board charges merely 34EUR, no doubt that we will be definitely fed full!

 

TRAM 9 from Kamppi is the easiest way to reach the Helsinki Länsiterminaali T2. After self check-in, we speed up to the top deck to enjoy the cruise scape.  

 

How to prepare light and shine at high season Tallinn cruise trip? Chanel le sac and a cotton tote are my priority choice: a pair of contact lens, Chanel SUBLIMAGE la Crème 5ml tube, Gabrielle EDP 2ml sample, N°5 body lotion and eyeliner #65 Hyper Black are essential enough to survive 24-hours away home.

Cuisine Crush Wien! Brunch Time with Art Nouveau at Hotel Sacher Salon

In 1876, Eduard Sacher opened the HOTEL SACHER in Vienna. Vienna’s most distinguished gourmet, Anna Sacher, took over the management due to her husband’s poor health, even after his death. Nowadays, The Gürtler and Winkler families manage Sacher Hotel fortunes in Vienna and Salzburg. 

For the brunch time at HOTEL SACHER SALON, Vienna sausage in Austrian German, Frankfurter Würstel or Würstl, is a thin parboiled sausage traditionally made of pork and beef in a casing of sheep’s intestine, then given a low-temperature smoking, rather lighter, less saltier and much crispier comparing to any Cantonese or Taiwanese traditional sausage, together with two bowls of light yellow mustard, horseradish and two bread rolls, are the multi-tasty and energy-supply choice. 

As for the drinks, I am falling in love with Austrian herbal extracts carbonated soft beverage ALMDUDLER, which, is currently sold in original sugar-free, still and g’spritzt, mixed with carbonated mineral water versions. In the regions of Lower Austria and Burgenland, Radler, which is Almdudler mixed with beer or wine, is a popular alcoholic drink with locally produced red and white wines.

 

Produced from 1957 by the Viennese entrepreneur Erwin Klein (1924–83), ALMDUDLER was derived the name from the then-common phrase ‘auf der Alm dudeln’, which, means ‘yodeling in the Alpine pasture’. The drink was originally created and marketed as an alternative to alcoholic beverages, and Klein promoted its popularity through sponsoring at major sporting events, especially at the 1964 Winter Olympics held in Innsbruck. 

 

ALMDUDLER is as refreshing as jasmine iced tea with spackling water, or a less bubble version of Danish elderflower drink. Last but not the least, a mini cup of espresso is always the best assist to keep me going on the road.

Guten Tag! Salzburg! The filming location of The Sound of Music, the hometown of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Heribert Ritter von Karajan, Salzburg has been inhabited continuously since the Neolithic Age until the present. 

 

Salzburg was first recorded in the late 8th century, the city of The Sound of Music composed of Salz-, German for ‘salt’ and the second being burg-, from Proto-West-Germanic, conveying the meaning of ‘fortified settlement’. The fortress of Hohensalzburg, one of the largest medieval fortresses in Europe, overlooking the Old Town, dates from the 11th century. Salzburg became a center of the Counter-Reformation in the 17th century, with stone-layer monasteries and numerous Baroque churches built. 

 

As being a fan of classic music, though missing the schedule of Wiener Philharmoniker debut at Salzburg Festival, still, I successfully book the tickets The Sound of Music from Salzburg Marionette Theatre and Schloss Konzerte Mirabell. Taking WESTBAHN train from Wien Westbahnhof to Salzburg Hbf and back with ÖBB, the 150 minute-journey offers the endless edelweiss village view. 

 

How to wear chic and comfort at Salzburg Festival?
